About D.G. Lockhart
D. G. Lockhart is owned and operated by Gordon and Jan Lockhart. Local businessman Gordon founded D. G. Lockhart funeral directors in 1991 and has been a pillar of the community ever since. In 2021 Gordon and Jan expanded with an addition funeral director joining the team, Rachael Miller.

The main office is based at 66 High Street, Dalbeattie which is staffed Monday-Friday. The repose rooms and workshop are located just round the corner at Cuddy-Lane.
Our Staff
Gordon Lockhart

Gordon was born and grew up in Dundrennan, “on the farm”. As an adult, Gordon moved to Dalbeattie and completed an apprenticeship at a local undertaker/upholsterer. Throughout his working life Gordon spent time running his own shop and upholstery business before setting up as an Independent Funeral Director in 1991. Gordon boasts over 30 years in the funeral industry and in his “down time” enjoys gardening, meals out and spending time with his wife Jan and their two dogs.
Jan Lockhart
Jan joined husband Gordon in the business in 1994 and has been monumental in shaping the business and making sure the day-to-day admin is kept up to date. Jan has experience in all aspects of funeral care and is well known throughout the surrounding area. She lives locally with Gordon and is often seen out walking her two dogs. Jan enjoys the finer things in life, good food, good wine and a good pair of boots.
Rachael Miller
Rachael began working in the funeral industry in 2010 in a voluntary capacity and has worked her way up over the years, boasting a true “ground up” experience. Rachael has worked as a funeral director for national companies on both sides of the border and joined the team in Dalbeattie on a part-time basis after becoming a mum. Rachael lives with her husband & little boy and enjoys time outdoors with her family.
Carol McCall
Carol joined the team as a Funeral Director in May 2022, having previously worked for the NHS. Carl lives with his wife in Dalbeattie and is an elder at Dalbeattie Parish Church.
Cy Price
Cy started at D. G. Lockhart in September 2022 after retiring from a lengthy career in public service. Cy lives locally with his wife and 7 dogs. Cy is a self-confessed “petrol head” and enjoys time out on his motorbike, as well as being an avid fan of the arts and spends time assisting at Dalbeattie Mens Shed.
